The trustees of Living Countryside, the producers of regret to announce the closure of the charity and the website.

Since its inception in the year 2000 the website has led the way with its clear and easy to use explanation of agriculture and its role in the countryside. In its first year site activity amounted to just 40,000 hits but more recently has run to some 30 million annually.
Despite this success it has not been possible to raise funding to maintain and further develop the site and rather than allow the site become progressively more out of date we have decided, with reluctance, to close.

We would like to thank all those visitors that have been enthusiastic with their feedback and especially those individuals who have given their time over the years.
