26th August 2011: A significant update to the site includes hundreds of new images to "Field to Fridge" including high resolution examples throughout.

19th May 2011: Our article "GM crops - the risks explained" is featured in the magazine "issues - see the bigger picture" volume 208. The "issues" series is proving very popular. The books are used in a wide variety of courses including GCSE, A-level and further education courses. In addition, increasing interest is being shown by government agencies, lobby groups and anyone who has a professional or personal interest in social issues. Many public libraries now stock the series.

28th September 2010: We've included a custom Google map highlighting farms that can be visited for educational purposes in the UK. You can view Google map here.

4th June 2010: Our Youtube channel goes live with a collection of farming videos. Visit Youtube.

20th March 2009: We have opened a Facebook group, if you would like to support us and join in with the group's discussions, please visit our Facebook group.

9th January 2009: We are pleased to have added beef to Field to Fridge. Two sections illustrating dairy and suckled beef join other production systems in our unique guide that comprehensively charts the chronology of production.

1st October 2007: Delivering on one of our pledges to the Year of Food and Farming, we are pleased to open our farming picture library with 1000 high resolution images for educational use by schools and colleges in the UK.

12th September 2007: We are pleased to support the Year of Food and Farming by helping to create the "Why Farming Matters" booklets that will be delivered to primary and secondary schools throughout the UK. The booklets which contain resources for teachers feature famous images from the UKagriculture.com website that have been conveniently printed on A4 card.

3rd August 2007: In expectation of a zero % set-aside rate we look to life after set-aside and call on Defra and Natural England to create a new extension to the Entry Level Scheme.

28th February 2007: We launch our solution to the UK's housing crisis. Diffuse development provides a sustainable answer.

10th October 2006:
We are pleased to be able to assist the RPA with their staff training.

15th September 2006: We are very pleased to announce that Living Countryside has been registered as a charity. We will be expanding our educational work and continuing to work to improve the countryside for future generations.

11th September 2006: The whole of the UKagriculture website is launched in W3C style, featuring cross browser compatibility and floating styles.

15th July 2006: The website is pleased to have welcomed its 1,000,000th visitor.

23rd May 2006: We launch our hedgerow trees campaign that seeks changes to the ELS and HLS environmental schemes to encourage farmers to bring on a whole new generation of hedgerow trees for the benefit of future generations.

10th December 2005: We launch our campaign for a living countryside by seeking changes to the management options for set-aside so that farmers will be able to better manage this land use for biodiversity gain. New campaigns will follow.

30th June 2005: The website is pleased to record its 500,000 visitor.

6th May 2005: The entire structure of the site has been updated to provide easier access to individual pages from web based searching.

6th October 2004: A major revision of the site is announced with new dynamic menus for easier and quicker access across sections of the site. In addition a new collaborative initiative with FACE is announced as we launch The Four Seasons.

25th March 2004
: Inspired by the UKagriculture.com web site the Environment Agency launches its "Farming in Focus" CD Rom designed to help Agency staff understand agricultural production techniques. Featuring hundreds of images from our field to fridge series, the CD Rom is an excellent example of collaborative working between the Agency and Living Countryside Ltd., producers of this site.

8th December 2003: Work for Hampshire County Council is completed with the launch www.sustainable-cholderton.co.uk a fascinating portrait of an exceptional estate.

5th September 2003: A new look to the site is introduced with dynamic html menus and a revised index page.

29th June to 2nd July 2003: The UKagriculture.com web site featured in the RASE Grain Chain event. The unique Grain Chain provided visitors with a fascinating look at the processes involved from field to fridge. Photographs from our multimedia library were also on display in the FACE stand helping with their general educational effort.

25th March 2003: The History of the Countryside and Agriculture features on BBC1 South Today.

6th March 2003: A press release is distributed to local media and the site is featured by a number of publications and radio stations.

15th November 2002: The long awaited History of the Countryside and Agriculture is published. With over 20 3D virtual reality movies depicting the landscape over the last 15,000 years, this resource will be of interest to anyone connected or interested in the countryside. The project, which has been under development for over twelve months helps to further fulfill the objects of Living Countryside Ltd in explaining the role and importance of agriculture in the countryside.

20th April 2002: UK Agriculture teams up with FACE and offers a branded section of the Field to Fridge Series. Living Countryside Ltd., producers of the UK Agriculture site commented that it was vital that the agricultural industry minimised duplication so that the scarce resources available within the industry could be used to best affect.

13th March 2002: A "Verity" search engine has been added to the site to allow for quick searching across the site without the need to use the conventional navigation. With a percentage relevancy score this new feature will allow users to rapidly check for related articles that might not otherwise be found.

21st November 2001: UK Agriculture PRESS RELEASE advises of 300th conservation project included in database.

5th September 2001: UK Agriculture launches a complete website re-design. Please contact us with any feedback or suggestions.

16th July 2001: The collection of data and photographs of conservation projects has commenced in the Sussex and Hampshire area. The data will be prepared for publication by the end of September 2001.

5th May 2001: UK Agriculture announces the introduction of its directory of agriculture with keyword boolean searches.

15th April 2001: New section on coppicing published. This will be an ongoing project at nature's pace over the next 10 years.

6th February 2001: UK Agriculture announces the introduction of its fun & games section. This friendly resource will be developed and enlarged to provide an interactive learning centre about agricultural topics.

1st December 2000: Development begins on our "history of the countryside - a 3d virtual tour"

3rd October 2000: The site is given a physical launch at the Hampshire County Council's "Landscape, a Strategy for the Future".
