Ecology
and Resource Management is part of the School of GeoSciences at the
University of Edinburgh. The BSc degrees in ecology and forestry were
established over thirty years ago to meet the strong demand for graduates
trained broadly in environmental subjects.
The modular MSc degrees began in the 1980s, and were among the first of their kind in the UK, attracting students from all parts of the world.
Edinburgh University is one of the UK's leading universities, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering has one of the best records for teaching and research in the entire country. In the Institute of Ecology and Resource Management teaching has been graded as 'Excellent' and received the top grade of 5 in the last Research Assessment Exercise.
