Walford and North Shropshire College is a Tertiary institution that is the product of a merger between a small rural Tertiary College and Shropshire’s Land-based College in January 2001. Its main campus is in the small market town of Oswestry. In 2003-4 there have been just over 900 full-time enrolments and there will be in excess of 9,000 part-time student enrolments by year end.

The College’s campus in Whitchurch in the north east of the county recruits over 2,000 part-time and a small number of full-time students each year.

At Shipley, in south east Shropshire, a new centre opened during the summer of 2003. Its main focus is horticulture as it is co-located with a large commercial Garden Centre, but it does have the capacity to deliver a broad range of courses.
