The crop is now 50 cm tall and growing vigorously.

Rapid growth continues through the month.

A fungicide is being applied to protect the crop from disease. This is important because the flag leaf (the top leaf) has now emerged, this is the one that is most critical in determining the eventual yield at harvest.

Joining the headland from the field at an angle. Note how the nearest part of the spray boom is switched off as the sprayer meets the headland. Sprayers have controllable sections to prevent overlap in the spraying operation.
