Compound fertiliser of phosphate and potash are being applied. This can be done at any stage of the year as they are only released into the soil slowly.

An application of nitrogen being applied at the end of the month provides resources to get the crop growing. Nitrogen is quickly released into the soil and taken up by the plant.

Damp bright conditions, the crop now has two leaves.
