Winter Wheat - March
The plants are beginning to tiller. Tillering is where new shoots emerge from the base of the plant thickening the crop. Tillering is something that is common to grasses and allows the plant to take advantage of space around it.
A tramline clearly visible among the growing crop.
Compound fertilser being applied. This sort of fertilser contains phosphate and potash both of which are lost from the soil system when a crop is harvested.
Stronger growth by the end of the month.
