The
FABBL Farm Assurance Scheme was set up in 1992 to provide a farm assurance
scheme that would give retailers and consumers confidence in British
livestock production standards.
On 1st November 2003 FABBL Farm Assurance merged with EFSIS in a move
to deliver improved benefits to FABBL's existing members. It now offers
farmers & growers the chance to combine multi-enterprise inspections
(with some exceptions) to save both time and paperwork.
The Assurance Scheme covers amongst other criteria:
• Identification and traceability
• Farm Animal Management
• Environment & Hygiene Management
• Feed composition, storage and usage
• Housing and handling facilities
• Medicines and veterinary treatments
• Transport
EFSIS is run by the agrifood industry for the industry's benefit, so has no external shareholders to satisfy.
