The Scottish Organic Producers Association exists to promote the sustainable growth of its members’ farming businesses through the development of its services as Scotland’s largest organic certification body.

The Scottish Organic Producers Association was established to provide a focus for organic food producers across Scotland, and is committed to the long term growth of a viable organic industry infrastructure linking producers, processors and retailers in the interests of the consumer.

The Scottish Organic Producers Association’s organic certification scheme is managed professionally on behalf of its members by Scottish Food Quality Certification Ltd (SFQC). The Scottish Organic Producers Association certification standard is undergoing further development in order to become accredited under EN45011 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

SOPA is a member of the UK Organic Certifiers Group, the Scottish Agricultural Organisations Society and the Scottish Farm Assurance Committee.
